Our Mission at Work - Financial Assistance Program
Thanks to contributions from friends of the Y, financial assistance is available for people who have limited financial resources through our Financial Assistance Program. Subject to available resources and space, every effort will be made to ensure that no person will be denied membership or program participation by reason of inability to pay. Contact the Welcome Center to apply for a membership or program financial assistance. Financial assistance requires annual renewal.
No one is denied the Y’s service due to the inability to pay.
The Wood River Community Family YMCA believes that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, deserves access to our services. All children deserve the chance to realize their potential; all people deserve access to the tools and education that will help them live healthier lives, and all people deserve equal access to support from Y friends and neighbors.
We ask that you bring your completed financial form and appropriate documentation to the Welcome Center and we’ll be happy to help you.
How to Apply:
Step 1: Complete the financial assistance form – Print from here or stop by the Y Welcome Center
Step 2: Provide a copy of the most recent year-to-date pay stub from each adult member of the household who is working. If self-employed, please include your monthly bookkeeping documents (P&L and Balance Sheet) OR
Step 3: Provide a copy of your most recent tax return (1040 form)
Step 4: Include a letter of explanation with your application stating your needs
Step 5: Bring your application and information to the Y Welcome Center
Financial assistance funds are raised at the YMCA Annual Classic fundraiser in August, our Annual Campaign in February and our Year End Appeal. Every dollar is a 100% investment in our community and our future. Your contribution can make an incredible difference in the life of a child, a teenager, an adult, a family, or an older adult. Please give generously and help us provide experiences that will last a lifetime.
