A Brighter Future
The Y is a proven leader with a demonstrated ability to help children reach their potential, lift-up families, bring diverse people together, and care for vulnerable populations.
Whether our community is working through a global pandemic and needs courageous educators to provide additional support for students, or our loved ones are struggling with chronic disease, the Y is here to take action.
A legacy gift is a meaningful way to make a difference, one that endures and enhances our community for generations. Please help us preserve the Y for generations to come.

Anita Braker & Dave Olsen
Committed to the future of our Y
Two local leaders with deep and long commitments to the Y, Cynthia Murphy and Dan Turner, first introduced my husband, Dave Olsen, and me to the wonderful workings of the Y by getting us involved in the Strong Kids Campaign. It immediately resonated with us, and led us to finding out more about the Y’s many great community programs. I volunteered to help with the Christmas Elves program. We attended the annual Y Classic event, and I soon joined the Board. Co-chairing the Classic for several years, standing with microphone and paddle in hand, close to the fire of that enthusiastic crowd, continues to be the thrill of a lifetime.
We were not here in the Valley during the initial Y capital campaign, but now we’re taking a new step into the future by committing to a Legacy Gift. The Y is well-run and fiscally solid. It provides a broad range of programs which address the needs of a diverse group of people from young ones, to teens, to seniors. We offer everything from day care, to swimming lessons, health and wellness programs, to workout facilities.
Dave and I are deeply committed to the Y’s mission and proud to play our part. We believe that what we’ve accumulated over our lifetimes should be shared with our community. Through a Legacy Gift we’re able to do that long after we’re able to actively participate. And that way, the pool our grandsons love will be there for their children.
