After School
145 Students
Last year, 145 Students participated in our after school education program. The program meets the highest safety standards and focuses on literacy, math, science, technology, physical activity, play, and social emotional learning. We use proven curriculum and we make learning fun!! This is a subsidized program and financial assistance is available to ensure accessibility for all.
SummerBridge
297 Students
Last Year 297 Students participated in SummerBridge Education Camp. This program is designed to help student who may be struggling in literacy or math. Students are nominated by their teachers to ensure our efforts are focused on bringing students to proficiency. This program is offered at no cost.
Since launching our first summer education program in 2016, The Wood River Community YMCA has invested more than $2.6M in free summer education alone.

20 Paid Interns
Every year we engage around 20 Interns to work as teacher’s aides in SummerBridge. These students earn college credit through the College of Idaho. We provide housing, food, transportation, wages, training, and much more to help engage the next generation of teachers.
19 Apprentices
19 Apprentices have completed a 144 hour OJT program through the Y and have been certified with the State of Idaho. We currently offer 3 tracks: Teaching Aide, Early Childhood Education Operations Manager, and Environmental Educator.
Bonni's Garden
328 Particpants
Last year 328 people participated in Bonni’s Garden Programs. Bonni’s is a state-of-the-art greenhouse and garden that connects our community to nature and life, and sparks collaboration, growth and learning.
Since launching our first Make-A-Splash program during school hours, the Wood River Community YMCA has provided free water safety and drowning prevention to nearly 4,000 students.
Make-A-Splash
228 Students
Make-A-Splash is a national water safety and drowning prevention program we offer in partnership with every school in Blaine County. Your 2nd grade student will be automatically enrolled in this free program. This education program is not just swimming lessons, it teaches skills to keep children safe in and around Idaho’s water ways.
Middle School Space
59 Participants
Have graduated from our collaboration with the SPACE, this 8 week program is designed to introduce middle school students to the YMCA with a curriculum that aims to foster physical activity, wellness, and community engagement, providing participants with a unique opportunity for growth and development. Skill Development includes exposure to swimming, climbing, environmental education and team bonding along with integrating STEAM activities for a holistic learning experience.
